Amnion Crisis Pregnancy Center
Amnion Crisis Pregnancy Center - Sex and Health
Pregnancy is not the only thing to be concerned about after having sex. STIs (sexually transmitted infections) are common. Some can be cured. Some cannot. Many have lifelong effects. HPV (human papillomavirus) is the primary cause of cervical cancer. At least 50 percent of sexually active men and women acquire genital HPV infection at some point in their lives. Most HPV infections have no signs or symptoms; therefore, most infected people are unaware they are infected, yet they can transmit the virus to a sex partner Chlamydia is the most frequently reported bacterial sexually transmitted infection in the United States. Any sexually active person can be infected with Chlamydia. The greater the number of sex partners, the greater the risk of infection. Because the cervix of teenage girls and young women is not fully matured, they are at particularly high risk for infection. In women, symptoms of Gonorrhea are often mild, but most women who are infected have no symptoms. Even when a woman has symptoms, they can be mistaken for a bladder or vaginal infection. Untreated gonorrhea can cause serious and permanent health problems. There are still over 1 million people living with HIV in the United States. About one-fourth of those have not yet been diagnosed and are unaware of their infection. Sex is a big deal. Know the facts. Make informed decisions. Respect yourself.

People For People
People For People - What Matters Most Campaign
In partnership with Urban Family Council (www.urbanfamilycouncil.org) we promote abstinence until marriage. We seek to encourage youth to delay sexual activity until marriage which will increase the likelihood of healthier young people, marriages, and families in our community. Our goal is to impact at least 15% or more of Philadelphia’s youth population with the message of delaying sexual activity. In order to accomplish this we have gone into middle and high schools, as well as youth organizations and churches to teach abstinence until marriage via the WAIT (Why Am I Tempted) training curriculum www.waittraining.org. Some of the middle schools include Hill Freedman, Leeds and Wilson, etc. Some of the high schools include Olney, Simon Gratz, Bartram, and Kensington

Precious Life, Incorporated
Precious Life, Inc. Sexual Abstinence Education Program Altoona
Programs targeting school-age children that are designed to delay the onset of sexual activity until the individual is married and thus reduce the incidence of adolescent pregnancy, STD transmission, and HIV/AIDS. Most programs address the benefits of sexual abstinence and promote the concepts that abstinence until marriage and mutual monogamous relationships during marriage are expected standards, that contrary behavior is likely to have harmful physical and psychological effects, that bearing children out of wedlock is likely to have harmful consequences for all, that abstinence is the only certain way to avoid pregnancy and related health problems, and that alcohol and drug use increase vulnerability to sexual advances. Abstinence education programs are offered by a variety of organizations including the schools, religious groups and agencies that serve youth; vary in format, some providing educational classes, others individual sessions; and may include role play components or other devices which help children learn and practice ways to reject sexual overtures.
