Y-Pals Preschool Here at the Y we welcome your toilet trained children, ages 3-5 years old, to engage in activities that will help prepare them for the kindergarten classroom. Children will also be able to develop large and small motor skills through activities such as games in the classroom, gym and pool. Wee Tots is designed for children ages 2 to 3. It is a good beginner preschool program which stresses socialization, taking turns, and following directions.

Here are some of the many changes we are making: Small groups of 1-9 staying with the same counselor & kids including lunches. Taking temperature of both kids and staff 2x per day. Encouraging regular hand washing hourly. Encouraging 6 ft social distancing. Separate entrances to limit exposure. Nightly deep cleaning of facility and throughout the day. Limiting transitions for groups. Staggered drop off and pick up times. We will continue weekly themes activities/crafts. Will be serving cold breakfast and lunch. Operates 5 days a week, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, starting June 8th.

STROUDSBURG BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM This program is for children in Kindergarten through Seventh Grade. It is open from 6:30 am through 6:30 pm Monday through Friday during the school year. Children must reside in the Stroudsburg School District so that they may use the school transportation. In the morning, our staff takes each child to their respective bus in front of the Y at the appropriate time. In the afternoon, the staff meets the children at the bus stop in front of the Y. Snacks are provided daily. Children are provided with a space to do their homework with assistance from our staff. Children will have the opportunity to participate in art, discovery, structured activities and utilize the gym regularly. EAST STROUDSBURG SCHOOL AGE PROGRAM This program is a before and after school program at both JM Hill and East Stroudsburg Elementary Schools. Working with parents and the schools, we provide a safe place for the children to go before and after their school day. Whether doing their homework, playing in the gym/on the playground or working on crafts, the children learn how to work with each other and become a team. Care is offered from 6:30 am until school begins and when school ends until 6:30 pm. On days when there is no school, care is offered at the Y on Main Street in Stroudsburg for children registered for this program from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. There are additional fees for these days and the space is limited since we serve both Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg schools. When there is a two-hour delayed opening the program begins at 7:30 am. Options are available for mornings only, afternoons only or both, as well as 2 day, 3 day or 5 day a week care.

This on-site Program and Chandler Hall is an integral aspect of our community. The inter generational program occurs on a regular basis; children from infant through Kindergarten interact with members of the community. Whether making cookies, rocking babies, reading to the children or engaging in a host of other events, our residents and children all benefit. Daily Experiences occur on both a planned and informal basis. These experiences provide residents, clients, staff, and children a safe place to develop healthy bonds, to get to know similarities and differences, and to begin to dispel ageist myths. Some experiences include trips to nature centers and various museums; cooking, music and art programs. Participants of all ages are energized and encouraged to understand a diversity of cultures and lifestyles. The children and adults are part of a nurturing environment that promotes personal growth, enjoyment and appreciation for all ages and abilities.
