The Service provides quick response-either in person or by phone-for assessment, support, guidance and counseling during a mental health emergency. The purpose of the emergency intervention is to provide assessment and stabilization of a mental health crisis situation and to refer to appropriate treatment services to begin to resolve the problems. The initial assessment may occur in the office or on a mobile outreach visit to the client's residence, police station, emergency room or social service agency. The Service also provides for voluntary psychiatric hospitalization referral. The Service is available to all residents of Chester County.
