All children with mental health challenges deserve family and a nurturing home environment that meets their therapeutic needs. Many children are living with mental illness in family homes, regular foster homes or group homes that require a level of support and care beyond that available in their current situation. To help these children, Access Services’ Therapeutic Foster Care program seeks extraordinary individuals to serve as Therapeutic Foster Parents.

Therapeutic Foster Parents provide a nurturing home environment for children aged nine to eighteen years of age with a need for mental health treatment. These outstanding individuals act as agents of planned change, fulfilling both a treatment and a foster role.

CRR Host Homes are currently available in Pennsylvania only. Service is available if individuals believe that they may be working with a qualified client or are interested in being a CRR Foster Parent.

Children’s Review Team is an out of home placement option. It is the mechanism to insure that every community resource and option for a child has been considered and exhausted prior to a child being referred to a therapeutic foster care program or a residential treatment facility. The Children’s Review Team will facilitate and connect children to the most appropriate mental health service as deemed by the Interagency Service Planning Team.

Children's Home of York's Permanency Program provides a variety of services for children and their biological, foster, and/or adoptive families from birth through the age of 18. Our structured, therapeutic family environment offers intensive support with the goal of helping children in our care secure a permanent family as quickly as possible. We work with a diverse pool of resource parents to provide kinship care and a variety of Permanency support services throughout Pennsylvania. The Children's Home of York maintains an on-going process of recruitment, screening, and training which enables us to offer diverse geographical and racial/ethnic environments essential to the successful placement of children and sibling groups of all ages who have a variety of emotional and psychological needs. In addition, we have two offices to provide regional support to our Resource Parent pool.

Community Services Group - Chariots Foster Care - Lancaster
Provides a safe, nurturing environment for children and families in need of out-of-home foster care placements. Children ranging from infants to age 21 are offered intensive and comprehensive care that meets their individual needs and provides support to the child, natural family and foster family. Children in Individualized Foster Care program are in the custody of Children and Youth services and may have medical, behavioral, and/or independent living skill needs. Children receive individualized treatment and are taught how to increase pro-social behaviors and decrease negative behaviors through behavior modification techniques. Can also provide emergency care, teen-parent support, respite care, preparation for adoption or legal permanent custodianship.

Services are provided on a one-to-one basis by culturally competent staff either in the child's home, school, daycare center or community.

Designed to serve as a short respite placement, planned or emergency, with the strength of specially trained resource parents able to meet the needs of high-risk youth.
