Before the holidays, Joan was worried that she wouldn’t be able to get enough to eat. She was living on a fixed income, and it was hard to make ends meet.
She thought there might be organizations in her community that could help with food, but she didn’t know how to find them. Joan called 211, and our Resource Navigator got her connected with an agency that provides holiday food baskets, as well as year-round food pantry services. When she mentioned that she had missed a recent medical appointment because she couldn’t find a ride, we also gave her the contact information for a local ride share service.
