Hannah had been unemployed since her employer cut staff during the pandemic. She was on her own, her funds had run out, and she needed to get back to work. So, she was thrilled when she finally landed an interview!
But the interview was across town. Hannah didn’t have a car and couldn’t afford a taxi. There was no direct bus route to the office, and Hannah was worried she’d be rumpled by the time she arrived. When she called PA 211, our Resource Navigator told her that she could arrange rides to and from her interview through RideUnited. This program is a partnership between United Way and Lyft that provides transportation to low-income people, so they can access services and employment opportunities.
Hannah’s Lyft driver got her to the interview early; she felt prepared and confident.
