Arlene, a single mom with two young children, lost her job early in the year due to injuries she sustained from an accident. Then, with the additional burden of the COVID-19 economic crisis, she was unable to maintain steady income, and was on the verge of being evicted from her apartment.
Unsure of where to turn for help, she called 211. Our resource navigator gave her multiple referrals for both rental assistance and housing resources, since she was not sure which option would be best for her. We were also able to identify other areas where Arlene could use support, and provided her with resources to help with landlord-tenant issue mediation, food, and toys for her children for the holidays.
