Provides a series of employment exploration experiences for youth by starting them out in the nonprofit and public sectors.
Once youth have displayed basic job skills and a positive work attitude, they are offered the opportunity to attend YouthWorks Job Readiness Training and compete for a placement in the private sector. In general, 14 and 15 year olds participate in career exploration, for which they are paid a stipend. 15 and 16 year olds, as well as older youth with no prior work experience, are placed in entry-level positions in their community for which they receive an hourly wage.
