JFCS staff secures housing and provides furniture, food and clothing. Provides long term assistance, including but not limited to airport pick-up, referrals to human services benefits, set-up of medical appointments, paperwork, ESL class referrals, peer group guidance and transportation issues. Helps clients find work, navigate American workforce expectations and gain skills. We work with you to evaluate your job skills, interests and past work experience in order to identify areas of opportunity that might be a good match for you. Our employment counselors have built relationships with local employers that hire newcomers. We’ll provide translators if necessary, transportation to interviews, resume assistance and more. Some refugees may be connected to the JFCS Career Development Center for further training.
