Provides eligible individuals who are stranded in Allegheny County with local or long distance bus fare. Eligible situations/conditions include but are not limited to runaways, stranded elderly, victims of domestic/intimate partner violence, medical situations, individuals who are mentally disoriented, or situations of verified hardship.

Intake Requirements: When working with victims of Domestic/Intimate Partner Violence, Travelers Aid requires the following in order to consider assistance with Greyhound services to reach a place of safety:
  • Referral from a Domestic Violence Shelter or current police report
    • Verification of acceptance at the destination (family, friend, or shelter holding a bed)
    • Geographical Area: Allegheny County. Destination may be outside the county.
