Provides free transportation to and from non-emergency medical appointments (doctor visits, hospital visits, dental, prescriptions, behavioral health, mental health, drug and alcohol treatment, etc.) for people on Medicaid.

Intake Procedure:
Individuals may:
  • Apply in person by visiting the office
    • Call the toll-free number to request an application packet in the mail
    • Fill out the application packet found on the website
      Applications may be returned in person, or by mail, fax, or email.
  • Intake Requirements: Pennsylvania Medicaid (Medical Assistance/ACCESS) card

    Helpful Tips: Please note, MATP does not directly provide transportation. MATP
    may provide:


    Free public transportation (bus, subway and incline) ahead-of-time tickets
    Reimbursement for your use of public transportation or a private car
    Free door-to-door service, when medically necessary, via shared-ride or ride-hailing service

    MATP is required by law to provide the least costly, most appropriate transportation service available that fits a rider's needs.
