COMPASS Application for Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP)
The Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) provides assistance to households that have experienced financial hardship and may be at risk of homelessness due to Covid-19. ERAP provides tenant households assistance with rental and utility costs to include arrearages and other related housing expenses.

Eligibility: Renter households that have income at or below 80 percent of the area median and in which at least one or more individuals living in the household:
Qualifies for unemployment or has experienced a reduction in household income, incurred significant costs, or experienced a financial hardship due to COVID-19 AND can demonstrate a risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability.

Intake Requirements: 1) Tenant head of household information – name, address, social security number, birthdate and contact information.

2) Annual or monthly household income information for all household members over age 18 (including income from Employment, Unemployment Compensation, and other income sources).

3) Rental arrearage amount.

4) Utility arrearage amount and service provider information.

5) Landlord or property manager information.
Geographical Area: Serves all of Pennsylvania. Some counties are NOT using COMPASS for applications. Visit the website to check availability of application.
