Helps Pennsylvanians in eligible low-income households to buy food. Eligible individuals and families receive an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) ACCESS Card to use for food purchases.

Intake Procedure: Apply Online using the COMPASS Website (linked in the intake website) or mobile app.

In Person: at the local County Assistance Office.

On Paper: Download the application on the website and return it by mail.

Intake Requirements: Photo ID, Social Security Number, and documentation of income and resources.
Geographical Area: Service available in all of Pennsylvania. Clients must contact the office in the county where they live (even if another county's office is closer to their residence).
Helpful Tips: There is a simplified SNAP application available to use if everyone in the household:

1) Is age 60 or older or has a disability

2) Purchases and prepares food together

3) Does not receive any earnings from work
