Chester County Compeer arranges one-on-one matches between adults learning to cope with a mental illness who live in Chester County with volunteers of the same sex and of similar age who share common interests and live nearby. The two spend at least four hours a month together participating in social and recreational activities. The program is designed to promote recovery by providing adults with severe mental illnesses with friends who can help in areas dealing with fear, isolation and loneliness.
