STEP - Williamsport - Medical Assistance Transportation Program
MATP sponsored consumers ride at no charge when being transported for an approved medical purpose and to a medical provider that accepts the PA Access card. MATP is responsible for providing the most cost-effective, appropriate transportation service available to meet the need. Consumers may be directed to use a privately owned vehicle (with mileage reimbursement), River Valley Transit (fixed route) bus, or scheduled to be picked up by a STEP van or taxi.

Intake Procedure: Call for information.
Intake Requirements: To use STEP Transportation for MATP purposes, you must register with STEP Transportation.
Geographical Area: Lycoming
Helpful Tips: If you need a ride to a medical appointment or service, call as soon as possible. For regular appointments and Geisinger appointments, you must call before 12:00 pm (noon) at least 1 business day in advance. All out-of-county and Lewisburg appointments must be scheduled 3 full STEP business days in advance. For Urgent Care needs, if the consumer has been informed by the medical provider that they must be seen by a medical provider within 24 hours, the doctor must call to verify the medical situation.
