Web chat is end-to-end encrypted, meaning only the user and the advocate can read the contents of the messages being sent. However, there is no technology that can prevent information from being read on a device that has a virus, malware, or spyware installed on it. If concerned that the computer being used might be compromised, call the Hotline instead.
