A full-service behavioral health managed care organization serving the Medicaid population in Pennsylvania. They are responsible for managing mental health and substance abuse services. CBHNP is required to make sure Members enjoy high quality care and timely access to appropriate mental health and substance abuse services. They also are responsible to help coordinate other services a family may need. The benefit packages for eligible MA consumers are based on category of assistance, age, and for some consumers, the existence of Medicare coverage.

Intake Procedure: Participants must be enrolled in HealthChoices, one of Pennsylvania's mandatory managed care programs for Medical Assistance recipients. Call HealthChoices (PA Enrollment Services), who is contracted by the state for enrollment services: 800-440-3989, or sign up on the PA Enrollment Services Web site.You usually become a Member of CBHNP shortly after your physical health plan becomes active--even if you never use behavioral health services. Until your HealthChoices membership becomes effective, you are covered by Medical Assistance (ACCESS). Call CBHNP to find out if your membership is active.
Intake Requirements: Member service representative will ask questions to determine the needed services.

Helpful Tips: Representatives can help schedule appointments, give a list of Providers for needed services, and help solve problems a Member may have with the services he or she is receiving Representatives can help file a grievance or complaint.
