In addition to handling the processing of all Protection From Abuse applications and cases, the Family Courts are responsible for all Juvenile Delinquency cases, Children and Youth cases and Orphans Court cases.

The types of cases heard by the Family Court Judges involve custody, dependency, juvenile delinquency, foster care, adoptions, visitation, appointment of guardians, truancy, and estate and accounting matters.
