Serves bench warrants and civil writs and protection from abuse orders, enforces child custody orders, issues concealed weapons permits and firearms sales licenses, provides security and protection for the court of common pleas and court related functions, provides security for the courthouse complex and other county court offices, keeps the peace in the county, transports prisoners to and from county, state and federal institutions for court appearances, arrests violators of the law and fugitives, assists other law-enforcement agencies in the county as requested in periods of emergency, conducts levies, sales of personal property and real estate.
