Luzerne County Court System - Marriage Licenses
Both applicants for a marriage license must appear together. If one or both of the parties were married before proof must be provided of how the prior marriage was dissolved: Date of death or a copy of the final Divorce decree. The license is only valid in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Eligibility: Both parties should be aged 18 or over (if under 18 applicant needs to be accompanied by a parent, if 16 and younger the applicant must have a court order to get a marriage license).

Intake Procedure: There is a (3) day waiting period before the license is issued and the license is good for (60) days from the date of issue. If you would prefer to have your license mailed, please provide a self-addressed, stamped envelope at the time of application.
Intake Requirements: Both applicants must provide their drivers license or state issued ID and a social security card if the applicant has one.

Helpful Tips: The fee to obtain a marriage license is $50.00 cash only.
There will be an additional $5.00 charge for each underage applicant. Located in Register of Wills office.
