Community Services for Sight
Community Services for Sight - Low Cost Eyeglass Program
Community Services for Sight offers a low cost eye glass program to individuals on a fixed income. The program is by appointment and requires the individual to have an eye examination and a copy of his or her prescription from the eye care professional. If individuals are unable to afford the cost of the glasses Community Services for Sight will look for funding on their behalf once they have completed an application and have shown proof of all HOUSEHOLD income and HOUSEHOLD expenses.

Mission Vision
Mission Vision - Eye Care
Provides free eye exams, custom eyeglasses, and other essential supplies directly to homeless, uninsured, working poor, and low-fixed income individuals. Vision of Hope program conducts free eye care clinics on site at crisis shelters, soup kitchens, food pantries, and sliding-fee medical clinics, where many in the demographic targeted by Mission Vision are already getting their primary needs for food and shelter met. As a measure to prevent unnecessary blindness, Mission Vision is also dedicated to educating community and neighborhood outreach providers about the importance of maintaining eye health, and the dangers of neglecting it.

North Western PA Optical Clinic - Low-Cost Prescription Eyeglasses
Provides new prescription eyeglasses, including lined bi-focals, for $40 to low-and moderate-income individuals and families who meet the eligibility requirements. Transition lenses, no-line bifocals and solid tint lenses are available for an addtional cost. Individuals must present their own prescription from their doctor and will have the opportunity to chose from lenses available.

Provides information, referral, case support, shelter and other material supports to low income households, enabling those individuals and families to avoid increasing disruption to health, welfare, educational and economic advancement.

Emergency service vouchers include:
- Interfaith Food Pantry
- Home heating fuel for seniors (age 60+)
- Prescription Assistance
- Eye exams and glasses
- Legal identification documents
- Second hand furniture (Easton residents only)
- Rental assistance: One month of rent. Documentation of income, circumstances leading to income lose or increase in expenses and proof of sustainability (Operates on a waiting list)
- Emergency shelter vouchers available if all requirements are met: 1) client(s) must be eligible for a shelter bed 2) all shelter bed(s) are full 3) a verifiable plan is in place for where the client(s) will go when leaving shelter

Services to Visually Impaired/Blind
Access Technology Training: Introduces people who are blind or visually impaired to computer software and the internet and advance computer skills. Evaluation of low video magnifier, vision aids and store on site.



Production: Provides employment to people with disabilities (minimum wage).



Radio Reading: Individuals who are print reading impaired receive news, information, broadcasts of special events and other programming. Reading and recording of information for individuals. Also do Braille production.



Prevention: Preschool vision and hearing screening for children ages 3-5. Adult screenings at businesses, civic organizations, health fairs. Public awareness presentations. Free eye care and glasses for those who meet financial guidelines.

Westmoreland County Area Agency on Aging - Reduced Rate Vision Centers for Seniors
The Vision Center provides a dilated eye examination and eyeglasses at a reduced fee.

An optometrist performs the eye examination, which includes screening for glaucoma and cataracts. A consumer can receive an eye examination every year. Eyeglasses are available every year if the consumer’s prescription changes. If there is no change in the prescription, eyeglasses are available every 2 years.

The Vision Center does not provide medical treatment for eye problems. If a medical problem is suspected, the consumer is referred to an ophthalmologist in the community.
