Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County
Military Share
Provides private food distributions throughout the county at specially designated sites for veterans, active duty, and inactive military personnel and their families who are struggling to make ends meet. Participants receive shelf-stable items, froze meats, dairy products, and fresh produce.

Community Human Services Corporation
Food Pantry
Provides nutritious monthly food supplements to families and individuals who are struggling with food insecurity.
Participants are able to visit once within the current month, (i.e. one time in the month of February, one time in the month of March, etc). Dry goods, frozen meats, eggs, and fresh produce are provided when available.

Other resources are available within the pantry space including voter registration, open computer lab, a pet food pantry, and referrals to other CHS programming.

Promoting self-sufficiency by helping clients understand and navigate available services in the community. Provides assistance with job searching, job applications, resume building, financial literacy/budgeting, and navigating social service programs with referrals.

Processes Dollar Energy Grant Fund applications, Columbia Gas CAP applications, and Adams Electric Project Helping Hands applications for utility assistance.


Offers the following services: Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) on Tuesday and Thursday; Community Progress Council's WIC on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; and Home Buyers Workshops as well as credit/debt counseling hosted by Community Progress Counsel Housing Program.

Compassion Center
Food Bank
The Compassion Center currently offers two different food programs on a monthly basis: Community Share and our CSFP/Senior Share Program. Community Share is a program that is designed for families of all ages who may be suffering from limited income or no income at all. There are over 275 families served through this program on a monthly basis. Our CSFP/Senior Share Program is focused on supplying food to the senior citizens of Tioga County and continues to serve over 55 seniors a month. Onsite registration is available for both programs.
