Bethany Christian Services Philadelphia
Bethany Christian Services - Safe Families Helping Young Moms
Provides a voluntary program for expectant mothers experiencing an unplanned pregnancy, who need time to establish stability in their lives while knowing they are in a safe and loving environment until they are able to live independently. The program places expectant mothers with an unpaid, compassionate host family before and/or after she delivers her baby, giving her time to adjust, continue her education, find stable employment, and/or locate safe housing. The mom will receive parent education and developmental screenings for her baby; she will be matched with a mentor and will meet regularly with a family coach. Safe Families hostings can last up to one year.

Morning Star Ministries - Maternity Home
Morning Star supplies housing and related services to teens and young women facing crisis pregnancies. The need for safe housing in a loving, nurturing environment is crucial to someone who is struggling with an unplanned or unwanted pregnancy. We have found that if given the hope we endeavor to provide, young women are less likely to turn to an abortion as a solution to their crisis. We offer care that begins when the resident arrives and ends when she and her baby have a safe environment in which to return. We not only provide housing, but also help with other needs relating to unplanned pregnancy such as keeping up with education, the coordination of medical care, teaching of life and parenting skills, counseling, etc. As you consider options and how to address the many issues and how they will change your life, you will speak with caring people who are experienced and can offer options for your consideration. In addition to housing and basic needs, the services provided at Morningstar include: - Parenting classes - Birthing classes - Various life skills classes - Assistance with doctor appointments - Help with obtaining medical assistance - Enrollment in the local school district - Earning a GED - Finding employment - Researching suitable housing
