Offers a workforce development program that seeks to transform the lives of out-of-school youth. The goal of the program is to provide participants with intensive, culturally relevant services that assist them in discovering and pursuing career pathways, education, and training in in-demand fields that will significantly improve their socio-economic trajectory.

Offering technical classes and programs to youth and adults.

Helps individuals prepare for the General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency (HiSET) tests by providing instruction that improves reading, writing, and math skills; enhances job readiness; and encourages career exploration or advanced training options. Support services and case management are also available. Tutors provided on a case-by-case basis.

Operates a Choice Food Pantry. Offers clothes, toys, school supplies, and other basic needs. Provides Information and Referral by directing clients to available agencies and resources for assistance according to the need. Offers Life Skills Training and emergency assistance. Accepts donations.

Offers a 26-session educational program for abusers to help identify abusive/violent behaviors, beliefs, and attitudes. Works to help abusers adopt non-violent beliefs and behaviors that support safety, fairness, and equality in relationships.

Student decides the hour. LCH's social assistance team provides individualized workforce development support to our clients seeking to gain new employment or find a better job. This assistance can be accessed by making an appointment to see any member of our social assistance team any hours LCH is open. This service is also free of charge.

The Peer-to-Peer (P2P) is a unique, experiential learning program for people with any serious mental illness who are interested in establishing and maintaining their wellness and recovery.

Peer-to-Peer (P2P) consists of 10 - two-hour units and is taught by a team of trained ``Mentors'' who are personally experienced at living well with mental illness. We've been there. You are not alone. The class meets once a week for a total of nine weeks.

Participants come away many tangible resources: an advance psychiatric directive; a ``relapse prevention plan'' to help identify tell-tale feelings, thoughts, behavior, or events that may warn of impending relapse and to organize for intervention early; mindfulness exercises to help focus and calm thinking; and survival skills for working with providers and the general public. You come away with a lot of resources, skills, knowledge to help in this recovery journey.

Educating individuals with PD, their families, and the general public is an important activity of the PD&MDC. Each spring, the Jane C. Wright Symposium on living with PD draws a large crowd of patients and caregivers who are eager to learn about advances in research, alternative and traditional treatments, and other relevant topics. The Center offers other, more intimate educational programs throughout the year to patients and families with newly diagnosed PD, and with parkinsonian syndromes and other movement disorders.
