The Wilkes-Barre Law and Library Association
Lawyer Referral Service of Luzerne County-Wilkes-Barre Law and Library Association
An automated operator will ask where you live and the nature of your problem. If an attorney is listed in your geographical area who handles your type of legal problem, the LRS will mail to you the name, address, and telephone number of that lawyer. If more than one lawyer is listed, the operator will provide you with several names. It is up to you to contact the attorney’s office and to schedule an appointment with that lawyer. You should indicate that you received the attorney’s name from the Lawyer Referral Service. The first one half hour of a consultation with a lawyer listed with the Lawyer Referral Service is currently ten dollars ($10.00). This amount is payable directly to the attorney. There is no charge for the referral by the Lawyer Referral Service. If your problem involves hiring an attorney beyond the initial consultation period, the rates and terms of that attorney’s services are to be determined by that particular attorney. If further legal services are necessary, fees for the attorney’s services will be arranged directly between you and the lawyer. The Lawyer Referral Service does not play any additional role in the extended service that a lawyer may agree to provide.
