A priority of the ADA is in the education and empowerment of young people with diabetes. The ADA is the largest camp provider for children with diabetes in the country, offering the only diabetes camp in Southeastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey. The American Diabetes Association Camp for Kids serves children aged 8 to 16 from Philadelphia, Delaware, Chester, Bucks, and Montgomery Counties in addition to Southern New Jersey. ADA also offers an opportunity for young persons living with type 2 diabetes to participate in a weekend retreat which takes place in the fall.
