City of Wilkes-Barre Office of Economic & Community Development - Wilkes-Barre City Homeowners Emergency Rehabilitation Grant Program
Provides financial assistance to make necessary repairs to the home for Wilkes-Barre. Total amount of assistance will be determined on a case by case basis depending on the cost of repair or replace the Emergency condition(s). Repair will be sub-contracted to a Wilkes-Barre City licensed contractor. All work will be inspected and approved by the City.

Eligibility: Property must be located in Wilkes-Barre City. Property must be an owner-occupied single family house. Must consent to Housing Code Inspection. Must reside in a dwelling which contains a major housing code violation determined to be of an emergency nature. Owner must have homeowners/fire insurance, flood insurance within 100 year flood plain. Must be current on Property taxes. Must meet income guidelines.
