All families must meet current income eligibility requirements set by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD). The Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act (QHWRA) of 1998 authorizes our Section 8 program to admit only families whose incomes do not exceed the very low income limit (50% of area median income) once it has met the annual 75% targeting income requirement of extremely low income families (those whose incomes do not exceed 30% of median income).
