Anxiety and Agoraphobia Treatment Center
Anxiety and Agoraphobia Treatment Center - Anxiety Disorder Treatments
AATC provides help for all anxiety disorders including; obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, social phobia, simple phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder and depression. When indicated, treatment may include spouses and and other family members in addition to individual sessions. Because many anxiety disorders originate during childhood, a separate program for the treatment of children was established in 1991. Finally, group treatment is often available for selected anxiety problems.

AATC is dedicated to trying to help those suffering from anxiety not only through therapy, but through education and community service. Our staff members regularly present our work at national scientific conferences and local presentations in an effort to train and educate other clinicians and the lay public. Because of our commitment to the community of those suffering from anxiety, we offer two free support groups, one for obsessive compulsive disorder and the other for panic disorder. For those who may not be able to afford therapy, lower cost therapy is available through our interns. Our interns are doctoral students in clinical psychology who are trained and supervised by AATC staff. They have come from Temple University, University of Pennsylvania, Bryn Mawr and La Salle.

    Children's Crisis Treatment Center
    Children's Crisis Treatment Center - Center-Based Services
CCTC's Center-Based Programs provide services to children presenting with significant emotional/behavioral issues:

    -

    Therapeutic Nursery

CCTC’s Therapeutic Nursery is a preschool program designed for children ages 2 1/2 through 5 with significant behavioral challenges. Designed to fill all the functions of a regular preschool program, the Therapeutic Nursery combines therapeutic interventions and pre-school curricula in a warm and playful atmosphere. Therapeutic Nursery professionals offer play and dance–movement therapy, psychiatric services, speech therapy, and nutrition education.
The primary goal of the program is to avert the need for more restrictive levels of support by providing the type of structured and nurturing care necessary to enable young children with behavioral challenges to transition into a regular school setting.

    Outpatient Department

CCTC’s Outpatient Department provides assessment and therapy at our center to children and families with emotional and behavioral health challenges. Like all CCTC programs, the Outpatient staff facilitates resiliency using strengths-based, trauma-informed best practices.

The Outpatient Department offers a range of clinical services, eco-systemic structural family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, art therapy, play therapy, and attachment therapy.Through Outpatient Care, the child can expect to learn productive and positive ways to manage their behavior, understand their emotions, and communicate effectively in their home, school and community.

    -
Trauma Services Department - The Trauma Services Department at CCTC includes the Trauma Assistance Program (TAP) and Sexual Trauma Treatment Program (STTP). The Trauma Assistance Program provides specialized treatment in the clinic and in the community to children ages 18 months through 13 years and their families who have recently witnessed/experienced a traumatic event (e.g., homicide, suicide, physical abuse, house fire, catastrophic accident, domestic violence, community violence).

The Sexual Trauma Treatment Program is a specialized treatment program within the Trauma Services Department focusing on victims of sexual abuse/assault.

    - Parent/Caregiver Services

CCTC’s Filial Parenting Program works to strengthen a parent/caregiver’s relationship with their child using play, the natural language of children.

    - The Cornerstone Center

The Cornerstone Center at CCTC is an Acute Partial Hospitalization Program for children ages 5-13, which provides intensive treatment and support to enable children to function successfully in their homes, schools, and communities. The program provides an array of services in a safe and supportive therapeutic environment, while allowing the child to remain in the home. It is both an alternative to inpatient psychiatric hospitalization for children at risk as well as a step-down service for children recently discharged from inpatient care. Our goal is to empower both child and family to address their behavioral health challenges and continue on the path to recovery.

Children’s behavioral health symptoms are viewed in the context of the family and extended community whose members are agents of change. At the core of the program is a multi-disciplinary team that emphasizes strengths and resiliencies of families and communities. Each child’s treatment plan is crafted with input from a child psychiatrist, master’s level clinician, registered nurse, and most importantly, the child and family. We ensure that this plan addresses the needs of the family as well as the child. Through family therapy and care coordination services, this program seeks to help families develop more effective strategies for meeting the behavioral and emotional needs of their children.

Care will be delivered at CCTC’s Cornerstone Center, which includes recreation areas, spacious classrooms equipped with computers, and innovative therapeutic learning tools. Located near public transportation, it is easily accessible to families for intake appointments and family therapy sessions.

EFF uses one of the most effective treatments available; Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which offers clients a nontraditional approach to therapy.

This therapy combines a licensed mental health professional, a certified equine specialist, and a therapy horse to create a research-based treatment model which strives to resolve emotional difficulties caused by disturbing, difficult, or frightening life experiences.

The horse is an integral part of treatment because horses are prey animals and therefore are extremely alert and sensitive to the emotions of those around them.

Clients learn to identify their own emotional state by observing the reaction from the horse. The horse also helps the client stay grounded as the client processes past traumas.

Holcomb Behavioral Health Systems - Mental Health Drop In - Cornerstone Clubhouse
A Clubhouse is a comprehensive and dynamic program of support and opportunities for individuals in mental health recovery. It is first and foremost a community that offers individuals hope and opportunities to achieve their full potential. The Clubhouse is unique in that all clinical aspects have been removed so as to focus on the strengths of the individual rather than their illness. At the core of the Clubhouse model are the four guaranteed rights of membership: 1 a right to a place to come, 2 a right to meaningful relationships, 3 a right to meaningful work, and 4 a right to a place to return. Through this environment of support, acceptance and commitment to the potential of each member, Clubhouses demonstrate that individuals with mental illness can successfully live full and productive lives and work in the community. There are four key components of a Clubhouse program: the Work-Ordered Day, Employment Programs, Supported Education, and Evening/Weekend/Holiday Events.

Keystone Children and Family Services - Dauphin - Behavior Health Rehab Services (BHRS)
Behavioral Health and Rehabilitation Services (BHRS) under the Office of Medical Assistance provides a range of behavioral health care services for children under the age of 21. Typically, the children who qualify for these services require a more intensive intervention to sustain them in their homes, school and community. Mental health staff help the child/adolescent learn skills and coping strategies to prevent further deterioration and more restrictive services. Wrap Around services are comprised of:

Mobile Therapy: The Mobile Therapist delivers intensive individual and family therapy based on having assessed the needs of the child in the family. The Mobile therapist promotes the development of adaptive skills and relationships and coordinates the overall direction of the mental health treatment.

Behavior Specialist Consultant: The Behavior Specialist provides knowledge of behavioral management so as to assist in the development and implementation of the child's individualized treatment plan, which is focused on targeted problems and goals.

Therapeutic Staff Support: The goal of the TSS is to assist the child/adolescent through the therapeutic interventions noted on the treatment plan. This will include social skill building, symptom management, impulse control, assertiveness, problem solving, the promotion of self-esteem building and creative expression. In the home the TSS works together with the parent to implement specific behavioral strategies and to support positive interactions between the child and parent.

To enhance the success of any one or all of these services, the parent/guardian agrees to actively participate in the child's treatment in collaboration with the treatment staff. This will include communicating with staff on a regular basis, attending all home based sessions and the follow through of mutually agreed upon goals.
