Autism Services - Parent-Child Interaction Therapy
Provides therapy for young children with disruptive behaviors in a specially-built playroom in community locations.

Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is a research-proven intervention for young children with disruptive behaviors such as tantrums, difficulty listening, hitting or kicking, difficulty playing with others.

There are two phases to PCIT. Phase 1 focuses on increasing warmth in the caregiver/child relationship using skills proven to help children feel calm, and to increase pro-social behaviors such as sharing and taking turns. Phase 2 offers strategies to help children accept limits, follow directions, and to develop good behavior at home and in public. Therapists teach caregivers these skills, then coach caregivers in real time from behind a one-way mirror using a "bug-in-the-ear" device.
Eligibility: A referral is not required for enrollment.

    Program for those providing care for a care dependent older adult. The caregiver is the primary manager of their care. The program works to ease the stresses of caregiving by focusing on the well-being of the caregiver. The program provides the primary caregiver with reimbursement for out-of-pocket costs associated with caregiver, such as respite, personal care, and caregiving-related services and supplies. The program also offers education, training, counseling, and more.

    assistance with at least 1 ADL. Household income is taken into
    account.
