Throughout the year The Arc offers a variety of recreational opportunities. Every effort is made to meet the needs of our participants by offering a diverse selection of community, virtual and facility-based activities. We strive to make inclusive options available which lead our consumers to independent leisure skill development. Regularly scheduled leisure choices are offered each week throughout the year. Programs are varied and include dinners, dances, swimming, bingo, arts/crafts, special events and much more. We have a Fun and Friendship Bowling League which meets regularly. For children, the Arc offers a five-week summer camp program. In addition "Arc Tracks" presents travel prospects for those who enjoy excursions to destinations such as New York City, Philadelphia, and Lancaster for shows and shopping. We also experience amusement parks, and sporting events.

Lifesharing through Family Living is a residential services program that enables an individual with an intellectual disability to join a provider family or a companion, in their private home, as a fully participating member of that family. Through this high quality, long-term living situation that promotes choice and community integration, the individual gets to enjoy sharing life experiences, building mutual relationships and responsibilities.

Provides family-like residential living environment to adults and pre-adults with intellectual disabilities, autism or behavioral health needs. Throughout Erie County, a team of dedicated staff supports the residents in building skills for greater independence and inclusion in their neighborhoods and communities.

A program of structured activities to functionally disabled older adults who live in the community. This program helps to maintain or improve the consumer's level of functioning and offers respite to family caregivers.

Offers structured activities, trained nurse on staff, health monitoring and assistance with medications. Personal care(assistance with ambulating, eating, toileting, showering) Dietician approved lunches; honoring special diets. Offering two programs: Aging program and a special needs program. Serving clients with Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's, mentally challenged, Cerebral palsy along with folks that need socialization and structure but do not have a primary diagnosis.

Provides employment training that includes a vocational assessment; supportive, competency-based pre-vocational, vocational, and psychosocial skills development; supervised workshop employment; and community-based supported employment. Provides home modifications to individuals with low income living in York County. ADA & UCC Assistance Comprehensive, on-site assessments, technical assistance, and training on the federal and state anti-discrimination and accessibility laws

. Training Individualized, interactive workshops on disability awareness and disability related issues; monthly consumer training series.

Our primary goal is to help individuals with blindness and visual impairment to live safely, comfortably and efficiently within their homes. Instructors teach techniques for cooking safely, identifying canned goods, freezer items and medicines, managing laundry and housekeeping tasks, and keeping the household well-organized. Staff assists with marking appliances and with evaluating and implementing safety related changes within the home.

Instructors also introduce simple methods for dealing with everyday tasks such as money identification, telling time, and using the telephone. Clients learn new ways to communicate using large print materials, adaptive writing aids, and audio technology. When appropriate, basic Braille may be introduced.

Fundamental orientation and mobility skills and white cane techniques are oftentimes taught so that clients can travel safely in their environment.

Caring is key. Instructors provide adaptive ways to deal with recreational and social challenges that sometimes arise from vision loss. They also help clients to develop realistic and positive attitudes towards living a rewarding life.

A secondary special education program focused on providing comprehensive academic instruction and real-life career exploration, experiences, and training to students with disabilities to best prepare them for successful post-secondary training and education, employment, and independent living. Programming includes:
Employment Transition Services - instruction to develop transition portfolios which includes a letter of interest, resume, applications, and thank-you letters.
Practical Assessment Exploration System Lab (PAES) - a simulated work environment that provides students with a scope and sequence curriculum to expose students to a wide variety of career fields and to further assess skills and interests such as consumer science, computer technology, problem solving, process and production, and communication.
Academic Instruction and Remediation Lab - students receive instruction and remediation based upon the standards in the areas of reading, writing, and math.
Independent Living Lab - students receive instruction in general independent living and adaptive skills as well as review and discussion of current events and the impact they have on students’ futures.
Alpha Circle - Graduating seniors receive intensive small group instruction in independent living skills, such as daily household maintenance, budgeting, meal planning and preparation as well as fitness and leisure skills instruction through the Sunbury YMCA partnership.
Work Experience and Career Exploration Program - provides students with multiple opportunities to participate in on-the-job training and career exploration.

Devereux Pennsylvania Adult Services (formerly known as the "Whitlock Center") serves nearly 400 adults living in homes and apartments throughout southeast Pennsylvania, as well as in our Berwyn community. Our dedicated team of 600 staff, ranging from highly-specialized clinicians and nurses, to recreational and direct staff professionals, all work with one common goal: the happiness, self-fulfillment and social integration of each adult in our community.

Offers community residential, respite, and life sharing services.

Services assist individuals in acquiring, retaining, and improving self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills necessary to reside successfully in home and community-based settings. They can include help with cooking meals, house cleaning, laundry, and activity planning. They may also assist with personal care, taking medications, attending medical appointments, or exercising. These supports are designed to promote independence while allowing each person to accomplish everyday tasks in order that they may live a quality life. While residing in a Lifesharing home, individuals attend some type of day programming.

Direct service that consists of services designed to assist individuals in acquiring, retaining, and improving the self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills necessary to reside successfully in home and community-based settings. Habilitation may be provided up to 24 hours a day to ensure the individual's health and welfare, based upon the needs of the individual. This is a service that may be provided to people in their own home, or in other residential or community settings not subject to licensing regulations.

Assists individuals in acquiring, maintaining, and
improving self-help, domestic, socialization, and adaptive skills. Services consist of support in the general areas of self-care, communication, fine and gross motor skills, mobility, therapeutic activities, personal adjustment,
relationship development, socialization, and use of community resources. When services are provided by agency-based providers, this service also includes transportation services necessary to enable the individual to participate in the home and community habilitation service, in accordance with the individual's ISP.

Enables adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to enrich their lives, enjoy a full range of activities in the community, and explore and engage in meaningful and purposeful activities based on personal preferences and needs. Each person receives individual assistance from a direct support professional to engage in a variety of activities, from performing the functions of daily living to volunteering and pursuing employment, educational, social, and recreation opportunities. They offer an activity fund so that financial barriers will not prohibit you from achieving your aspirations or goals. Creates life-changing solutions for children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities, autism and other social, sensory and developmental disorders and their families through a variety programs designed to increase independence, maximize opportunities, minimize barriers and enhance quality of life. Provides Early Intervention services for children starting at birth and provides free developmental screenings to ensure early identification of potential delays when it is most critical. Offers summer day camps and overnight camp; weekend respite camp; autism diagnostic clinic; ABA therapy coaching for parents of children with autism; community supports/habilitation for adults; and employment preparation program for high school students.

Each Thursday after work, about 50 of the clients from our day program gather in one of two groups for fun and learning. The groups are led by a team of volunteers. Some of our volunteers are Handi-Crafters' staff who put on different hats for the afternoon, while others are from the community at-large. Each group has five or six "helpers" as they work through the afternoon's activities. These activities include musical sing alongs; exercising to "Chicken Fat", discovering their artistic talents, playing BINGO and many others. Special events are planned around the holidays.

Provides activities which helps to enable program participants to lead successful lives and connect to their community in meaningful ways. Utilizing both individual and small group settings, direct support professionals emphasize training activities that improve fine/gross motor coordination and promote independent care skills. Also offers the Work Activity Center. Program participants earn a paycheck while learning job skills and concepts. Through hands-on instruction, participants carry out contract work for area private companies.

Support Living

Provides training and assistance to people with developmental disabilities who live independetly or at home with their families. Staff teach cooking and laundry skills, writing, personal hygiene, decision making, and money management. Staff may also take the individual out for activities such as shopping, recreational activities, and to doctor's appointments. In-home staff will follow up with therapeutic exercises if recommended by the physician, physical therapist, or occupational therapist.

Provides an array of individualized supports to help individuals learn, maintain, or improve skills. Participants learn and use skills in the context of daily activities which are necessary to live in the community, to live more independently, or to be more productive and participatory in community life.

Indian Creek Foundation's Residential and Community Based Services department provides a continuum of individualized services to support adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities in exploring their place in the community. Twenty-four hour a day care is provided in group homes throughout the area.

Delivers customized services to help people with disabilities accomplish daily tasks. People in this program don’t require 24/7 support; instead, they pursue interest-based activities and develop life skills

The program offers families a unique opportunity to work toward family stability and reduce the risk of out-of-home placement by providing them with personalized, in-home support. The Home-Based Case Manager or Family Resource Specialist meets the "total" needs of the child through guiding and assisting parents or guardians in gaining access to necessary medical, educational, rehabilitative, and social services. Additionally, the program connects families with other community resources and supports.
