There are two phases to PCIT. Phase 1 focuses on increasing warmth in the caregiver/child relationship using skills proven to help children feel calm, and to increase pro-social behaviors such as sharing and taking turns. In order to be eligible, a person referred must be struggling with an impairment due to their mental health condition that limits their attainment of goals in the areas of: Living, Learning, Working, Social, or Wellness.

Insurance is required: Medicaid (Health Choices) and both Westmoreland and Allegheny County Fee for Service.

Provides an assessment of presenting psychiatric symptoms, including substance abuse/dependence, level of impairment and associated risk factors to determine appropriate treatment options including a trial of psychotropic medication and/or therapeutic interventions.

Adult medication monitoring visit is to provide clinical oversight of individuals who are prescribed psychotropic medication by the agency or consulting psychiatrists. Assessment of medication tolerability and efficacy occurs at each visit. Education regarding medication and treatment options, medication adjustments, and physical health update are also components of medication monitoring appointments.
