Short-term, intensive program for children to meet mental and behavioral health concerns.

Behavioral support is provided wherever it is needed, including in the home, school, or daycare, wherever the child encounters challenges that need to be addressed. Treatment can address diagnoses that include depression, anxiety or mood disorders, ADHD, etc. Services can include Mobile Therapy, Behavioral Services Consultant and Behavioral Health Technician.

BARC provides early intervention and early childhood services for infants, toddlers and preschoolers who are referred by either a local base service unit (birth through three) or the Bucks County Intermediate Unit (ages three through five), in home, community and classroom based programs.

Children with hearing loss learn about themselves as they experience the ever-changing world around them. Our curriculum enhances children's listening, speech and language skills while fostering their social, emotional, cognitive, physical and creative development.
In addition to being in the classroom, children have speech language therapy every day which is facilitated by a speech and language pathologist or teacher of the deaf.
Daily curriculum includes math, art, reading, science, history, dramatic play, free choice, music, and sensory-motor integration which is all taught through a central theme, worked on both in the classroom and in therapy. A comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation program that provides diagnostic, evaluative treatments and referral services for children up to 18 years old who have developmental delays or difficulties, learning problems or have physical disabilities or injuries requiring rehabilitation. Good Shepherd also has contracts to serve as a provider of Early Intervention Services for both Lehigh and Northampton counties for children up to three years old.

Services include:

Social skills - Play activities foster parallel and interactive play. Children learn skills which enable them to participate in a group. Field trips provide opportunities to interact with other children and adults outside of a specialized setting.

Our vision is to utilize a holistic approach in partnering with individuals, families and the community by promoting hope, empowerment, choice, and opportunities that encourage people to achieve their personal outcomes as individuals and community members.

Early Intervention is an entitlement program for children from birth to 3 years, who have a developmental delay of 25% or more in one or more of the major areas of development (physical, sensory, cognitive, language/speech, social-emotional and self-care). At-risk children, including infants affected by premature birth, alcohol, drugs or lead poisoning and infants who have been abused or neglected are eligible for services. An entitlement program means that any eligible child, regardless of financial status, is entitled to receive services. Services include, among others, family training, speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy and assessment which are coordinated by Support Coordinators.

Provides special education programs for students with disabilities from age 3 through age 5 who have developmental delays, physical disabilities, vision and/or hearing impairments, speech or language impairments, autism, or mental retardation. Services are offered at various locations throughout Lancaster and Lebanon counties. A full evaluation is required to determine eligibility for services.

This program is provided for developmentally delayed children and is designed to teach parents how to address a child's delays in their natural environment. Speech, physical, occupational therapy are also provided.

Provides case management services for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Works with families to obtain assessments and therapies.

Helps families with children who have developmental delays. Assists in scheduling evaluations, making referrals for services, and in monitoring the child’s developmental progress. Also aids the family with preparation for a successful transition to a preschool program.

The Early Intervention program provides support and services to families with children, from birth to age five, with developmental delays and disabilities. Early Intervention builds upon the natural learning opportunities that occur within the daily routines of a child and their family.

Early Intervention:

Supports services and resources for children that enhance daily opportunities for learning provided in settings where a child would be if he/she did not have a developmental delay and disability.
Provides families' independence and competencies.
Respects families' strengths, values and diversity.
Early Intervention supports and services are designed to meet the developmental needs of children with a disability as well as the needs of the family related to enhancing the child's development in one or more of the following areas:

Physical development, including vision and hearing
Cognitive development
Communication development
Social or emotional development
Adaptive development

Offers home visits by registered nurses who provide information, support, and encouragement to parents to increase parent knowledge of early childhood development and improve parenting practices, provide early detection of developmental delays and health issues, prevent child abuse and neglect, and increase children’s school readiness and school success. Also provides monthly group activities, help enrolling in Pre-K and kindergarten, and information about other useful community resources.

Provides counseling for children and adults as well as family counseling. Focus is on behavioral issues, trauma, depression, anxiety, phobias and abuse. The therapist also work with neurodevelopmental diagnoses as well as age-specific challenges. In addition Adult Speech Therapy is also offered.

Family-centered Early Intervention program provides support and services based upon the individual needs and strengths of each child and family and may include: parent education, support services, developmental therapies, and other family-centered services that assist in child development.
