Offers three affordable housing opportunities under the Housing Choice Voucher Program

• Tenant-Based Rental Assistance: offers broad choice of housing type and location allowing eligible families to conduct their own housing search and choose where they want to live. Housing assistance is portable and families may relocate to another state, city, suburb, village, small town, or rural area where a voucher program is administered and continue to receive rental assistance.
  
  
• Project-Based Rental Assistance: Assistance is tied to the specific rental unit. For a rental unit to be considered, the owner must submit a written proposal and have demonstrated a commitment to upgrading, maintaining, and leasing their rental properties to low-income families.
  
• Home Ownership Option: Participants in either the tenant-based or project-based rental assistance programs who are employed for at least two years, or are elderly or disabled, are tenants in good standing, have attended home buyer education and are approved for a mortgage may use their housing assistance towards a mortgage payment.

Operates the Section 8 program and is a part of the housing choice vouchers that the is available in the county.

Administers both a public housing and Section 8 housing voucher program. The housing authority owns and manages 3 projects which contain 299 affordable rental units. It also administers 347 Section 8 housing vouchers.

Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program consists of 276 vouchers, and includes the administration of the Family Self-Sufficiency, Homeownership, VASH, and Family Unification Programs.

Provides eligible persons the opportunity to live in private sector housing. The wait list is currently open for project based voucher only. The project based program requires participants to live at the site issuing the voucher.

Provides safe, decent, and affordable rental housing.

Eligible families participating in the Housing Choice Voucher Program may choose a house for purchase anywhere in Dauphin County and receive financial assistance for homeownership expenses for up to 15 years.

For the elderly/disabled, there is no time limit.

Manages affordable public housing units and Section 8 / Housing Choice Vouchers program, the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program allows families or individuals to seek their own housing in the public market.

Provides federally subsidized permanent housing for older adults and families. Does not provide emergency shelter or transitional housing services.

Provides Section 8 and low-income housing while being committed to building and maintaining affordable housing for the citizens in our community.

A federally-funded rental assistance program where applicants who receive vouchers from the City Housing Authority must find a privately owned dwelling in the city whose owner is willing to participate in the program. The individual/family pays a certain percentage of their income for rent and utilities. The Authority pays the balance directly to the property owner. Units are inspected once a year.



Programs within Section 8:

-Family Self-sufficiency Program provides case management that assists families in becoming self-sufficient and can aid in the transition from welfare to work. It is a voluntary program.

Provides grants to local municipalities to undertake public improvement projects, renovate community facilities to benefit low and moderate income people. (Ex. sanitary sewer, public water, neighborhood improvement and parks, recreational facility project, public facility rehabilitation)

Provides grants to non-profit organizations to human service programs to benefit low and moderate income people.

Offer 0% interest loans to low and moderate-income homeowners who reside in Lancaster County outside the Lancaster city limits. Loans are for code and safety issues only. A lien is placed on the homeowner's property and no monthly payments are required. Loans are not due until the home is sold, or the deed is transferred.

(i.e. plumbing, electrical, replace/repair all types of heating systems, roof, structural/foundation issues)

Provides financial assistance to landlords or developers to rehabilitate or construct rental properties for low and moderate income persons. The program focuses on properties which are rented to a significant number of low and moderate income persons.

Administers the Section 8 Rental Voucher Program. The primary goal of the program is to provide safe, decent and affordable housing to low-income persons and families through rent subsidies.

Administers several housing programs in Lebanon County. Accepts online housing applications for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program and Public Housing program waiting lists.

Provides decent, safe and sanitary housing for eligible low-income individuals, families and senior citizens. Provides information about eligibility for and vacancies in subsidized and non-subsidized housing properties in Lehigh County. Eligibility criteria include income guidelines, age and/or disability status. Waiting list for all programs is 2 months to 2 years.

Administers the Section 8 program. Eligibility is determined by income and family size. Two year waiting list.

Serves children and adults diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's Disease, and myleoma and works with families as well. Provides patient financial aid, advocacy, information and referral, educational materials, and patient and family support groups, including First Connection, which will match a newly diagnosed patient with a survivor. Sponsors a variety of fundraising opportunities including marathons, triathlons, and walks.

Provides decent, affordable, and safe rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Public housing ranges from single family houses to highrise apartments for elderly persons.

Provides affordable housing, public housing units, and serves as a general assessment center for Coordinated Entry for the Western PA Continuum of Care homeless housing services.

Offers low-rent public housing. Operates units in the Section 8 Housing Assistance Program that provides rent subsidies in single houses or apartments.

Provides housing at affordable rates. Operates Gill Commons, Holland Towers, Elmwood and Morgan Villages.

Acts as the Coordinated Entry Auxilary Agency for those experiencing Homelessness or Housing crisis in Mercer County.

Provides decent and safe rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.

The Montgomery County Housing Authority (MCHA) administers a variety of housing programs in its quest to provide subsidized housing to low and moderate income individuals and families.

Section 8 rental assistance available to qualified applicants. The participants in the program must be below 50% of the median income in each county to qualify. The program will contribute the difference between 30% of eligible tenants' income and their gross rent (rent and utilities.)
