Rec Center for youth provides a safe space for fun and offers snacks and meals. In conjunction with local law enforcement authorities, provides a location where offenders, both youth and adults, can work off court assigned community service hours.

Helps very low-income, single parent families in Allegheny County to secure and maintain decent, affordable housing and higher levels of self-sufficiency. A counselor helps program participants to develop and implement action plans which contain specific goals and objectives for self-sufficiency and the steps which participants need to take to achieve these goals. The case manager works on an individual basis with each participant, linking them to key services, monitoring their progress, and guiding them on their personally designed paths toward self-sufficiency.

Offers residents a chance to sign up for an Individual Development Account or IDA, which is a special escrow savings account designed to help people with low or modest incomes save up for a major, lifelong asset such as a home. For every dollar saved in an IDA, account holders receive a corresponding match. Participants must agree to complete financial education classes and use their savings towards the purchase of a home. IDAs make it possible for individuals and families to build the financial assets they need to achieve homeownership.

Section 8 Rental Assistance Program is an opportunity for families of low to moderate income to receive assistance with their current rent or move to a new rental property. Under HANCâs Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program, HANC does not manage or maintain your housing unit; rather, your relationship with your landlord is no different than with a traditional rent setup. A federally-funded rental assistance program where applicants who receive vouchers from the City Housing Authority must find a privately owned dwelling in the city whose owner is willing to participate in the program.
